Translation |
| Abstract(E) | This paper examines both a theoretical and experimental studies with the object of longitudinal vehicle following control using two vehicles. Mainly, the effects of inter-vehicle communication are investigated. The conclusions are as the following: 1. The following vehicle follows the leading vehicle with a little spacing error under the condition that the leading vehicle accelerates and decelerates at 1.0 [m/s2], by controlling the throttle and the brake refered to sliding control theory and by using an inter-vehicle communication. 2. The following vehicle maintains its safe space in case that the communication's contents contain false data, owing to a simple fail-safe system constructed for the inter-vehicle communication. |
