| Abstract(E) | This paper describes a direct drive electric vehicle of using microcontroller unit (MCU) and controller area network (CAN) bus. Demonstrating the drive-by-wire technique realized by 8 bits microcontroller and stand alone CAN controller is the first objective of this work. For the purpose of demonstration, an indigenous two-wheel-drive single-seat electrical vehicle is built. The built concept vehicle has two independent drive wheels. Electronic differential is adopted to substitute traditional mechanical differential. By means of practical road test, the results show the drive-by-wire technique based on low cost MCU and CAN bus is successful and feasible. |
