Translation |
| Abstract(E) | Ball burnishing (BB) is a surface finishing process that involves moving the tool while pressing it against the workpiece under rolling contact. BB was performed on an aluminum alloy specimens containing a surface defect, and the fatigue strength of the specimens was measured.Ball burnishing reduces surface roughness and induces compressive residual stress. These effects resulted in improved appearance and increased fatigue strength of the aluminum specimens. |
