| Abstract(E) | As active safety systems are increasingly becoming available in the market, development tools and methods should have the primary attention from both the developers and the regulators of these systems. Active safety systems have to comply to strict performance and robustness requirements, whereas assessment of active safety systems should evolve in a reproducible, cost-effective and safe manner. Tackling these challenges requires innovation in evaluation methods as well as integration of different tools. This paper describes a methodology for design and assessment of active safety systems. The method is based on seamless integration of simulation tools and test facilities, in order to allow an effective and efficient active safety system development process. |
