| Abstract(E) | Accurate measurements of rotation frequencies of rotors are important to evaluate performances and maintain normal operating conditions of rotating machines as well as to reduce vibrations and noises caused by them. The most common way of obtaining rotation pulse signals is to use steel gears and electromagnetic, electrostatic, or eddy-current type sensors. Instantaneous rotation frequencies are obtained directly from time periods between adjacent pulses or by use of the analytic signal (Hilbert transform) method. In this paper, a method of removing rotation frequency estimation errors caused by unevenness of tooth shapes of a gear is proposed and examples of numerical analysis obtained by the proposed method are presented. |
