| Abstract(E) | It is necessary to understand current injury mechanisms in order to evaluate what effect new safety systems will have on vulnerable road users. The purpose of this study is to understand the actual situation of pedestrian accidents in Michigan (U.S.) and to create a scenario of fatal injury. Accident scenario was created from macro-data, and the accidents cases based on scenario were analyzed based on micro-data. It was found that the number of fatal accidents of pedestrians while crossing the road was increased and the frequency of head injury was higher from involved physical components. |
