| Abstract(E) | This research focuses on optimizing a 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The engine integrates turbocharging, gasoline direct injection, and an Atkinson cycle to enhance efficiency and power. Key optimizations include adjusting intake cam timing, compression ratio, and employing multiple injection strategies, including low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (LP-EGR) to mitigate knocking. Test results show a 5% fuel consumption reduction and improved power, making it suitable for mid-size SUVs. The engine design also improves catalyst heating and reduces emissions, contributing to more efficient and eco-friendly HEVs. |
