| 抄録(英) | Promoting plastic resource circulation is a crucial challenge for Japan, particularly in the automotive industry, which is transitioning toward carbon neutrality. While 60% of waste plastics are thermally recovered, material and chemical recycling remain underdeveloped. Polyurethane foam (PUF), widely used in automotive applications, poses recycling challenges due to its chemical crosslinking. Conventional recycling methods, such as glycolysis, suffer from high energy consumption and by-product formation. This study introduces carbonated water hydrolysis, an energy-efficient, by-product-free method for recovering polyol (PPG) and amine precursors (TDA). A comprehensive ALL-JAPAN approach is essential for establishing a sustainable and effective PU recycling system.
