| 抄録(英) | Laser ignition as a replacement for Spark Ignition in internal combustion engines presents potential advantages both in terms of reducing the cyclic variations between combustion cycles and reducing the overall ignition package costs, weight and energy requirements. This paper presents an analysis of the changes in Coefficient of Variation (COV) in both Indicated Mean Effective Pressure (IMEP) and the Peak Cylinder Pressure Position (PPP) due to modulation of the energy and the spot size delivered by a laser to the cylinder in an otherwise unmodified normally-aspirated 1.6 litre port-injected engine. The results are the outcome of The Laser Ignition in Internal Combustion engines (LASIIC) Project which is conducted by a consortium comprising The University of Liverpool, The Ford Motor Company, and GSI Lumonics with funding from the United Kingdom, Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), Foresight Vehicle Programme. 翻訳 |
