Abstract(E) | We proposed a process to support resumption of driving by focusing on the cognitive function for people with cognitive decline. We also proposed a method of evaluating the cognitive function which is required for safe driving by combining neuropsychological tests and a driving simulator experiments. In detail, we conducted desk-based tests and driving simulator experiments on healthy participants by imposing visually impaired condition and Flanker task to simulate the cognitively declined condition. Then, we derived a multiple regression equation to estimate driving behavior from the results of neuropsychological tests through the experiments. In addition, we proposed a method of evaluating the cognitive function which is required for safe driving based on the equation. Furthermore, based on the test results, a training methodology was devised based on concept of metacognition for driving to make drivers correctly recognize their own cognitive and driving abilities and to encourage augmentative and alternative behavior. |
