How to use this system

Individual members of the JSAE who are using this system for the first time must create a link between the system and their personal member page account.
This link can be created as follows.

Create an account for this system and link it with your personal member page account.

About This System

1) About This System

This system is a comprehensive database of technical papers, standards, and other technical information related to automobile technology. It is managed and operated by JSAE.

2) Papers and information handled by this system

This system handles papers and standards published by JSAE, SAE papers, technical reports of each company, overseas magazines, and papers from international conferences. In addition, various information on automobile technology will be recorded. All data handled in this system is electronic data, and PDFs, digital books, ZIPs, videos, etc. can be viewed.

SAE Papers will not be downloaded from this system, but will be provided in the form of a separate email with a download link. Please note that it may take several days from the completion of payment to the notification of the download link.

3) About sales of literature information in this system

In this system, abstracts of papers can be viewed free of charge. There is a charge for the literature data itself. You can use credit card payment (3D Secure) or Paypal as the payment method.

4) Issuance of quotation, invoice, delivery note, receipt

Quotations, invoices, invoices and receipts can be issued on the system. Invoices and receipts can be issued after the approval is completed (in the case of bank transfer, after confirmation of payment by JSAE).

(About the estimate)

You can create a estimate for the items in your cart by clicking the "Save estimate" button. You can check the created estimate on the "Estimate Information" page after clicking the user name. You can also order from there by reflecting the previously created estimate information in the cart.

(About invoice, delivery note, and receipt)

You can check the invoice, delivery note, and receipt on the "Purchase history" page after clicking the user name. You can check the delivery note / receipt after payment is completed.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use stipulate the conditions that apply to the use of the Literature and Information Search System service (the Service) operated and provided by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (the JSAE).
Use of the Service is interpreted as agreeing to these Terms of Use.

1. The Service

The Service consists of the transmission and sale of technical papers and books (the Contents) to which the JSAE owns the copyright and selling rights.

2. Eligibility

Users of the Service (Users) refers to people who have registered as such after agreeing to these Terms of Use and following the specified application procedure. Both individuals and legal entities are eligible to become users.

3. User Registration

Use of this service requires agreeing to these Terms of Use and registering as a User. The Service becomes available immediately after completing the user registration.
  1. Individual members of the JSAE are asked to complete their member page registration before registering with the Service.
  2. Corporate members are asked to contact us by email (info@jsae.or.jp) after completing the user registration procedure for the Service. The JSAE will finalize the corporate member registration after verifying the information.
  3. You will have to register as a User if you are neither an individual nor corporate member of the JSAE. You will have access to the Service immediately.

4. Validity Period for User Registration

The user registration is valid for one year after completing the registration process. Note that renewal is automatic if deemed appropriate by the JSAE.

5. Updating User Information

Users must promptly report any changes in their email address, surname, or other registered information. Failing to do so may lead to a suspension of the Service.

6. Cancelling a Registration

A User can contact the JSAE by email (info@jsae.or.jp) to cancel their registration.
If a User is found to have used the Service in a fraudulent or other inappropriate manner, the JSAE may suspend access to the Service by, or cancel the registration of, that User.

7. Use of the Service

  1. Placing an Order
    An order is placed with the JSAE as soon as a User completes the ordering procedure in accordance with the steps on the pages of the Service after selecting the Contents and entering the necessary information.
  2. Transmission of the Contents
    After an order has been placed, the Contents shall be transmitted upon confirmation of payment(*) by the JSAE.
    *Confirmation is defined as the normal completion of credit by the settlement agent for payments by credit card, or as confirmation of the transfer of the order amount for payments made via PayPal.
  3. Order Cancellations, Refunds, and Returns
    Due to the nature of the service, the JSAE cannot, under any circumstances, accept a cancellation or refund requests from a User after the Contents have been transmitted. However, corrupted or otherwise unusable Contents will be retransmitted. Use the contact information at the end of this document to notify the JSAE in such cases.
  4. Format of the Contents
    The format of the Contents is limited to the format determined by the JSAE or the original publisher, and requests for other formats cannot be accommodated.

8. Price of the Contents

Individual product prices are categorized into a JSAE member price, non-member price for users without a membership, and a special price for users with a specific subscription agreement. Each individual product has a different set of prices.

9. Payment Methods

  1. The JSAE accepts payments by credit card (Visa, Mastercard) and PayPal. In both cases, the Contents is transmitted after payment has been confirmed.

10. Handling of User IDs and Passwords

You must not transfer, lend, or otherwise allow a third party to use your user ID and password.

11. Scope of Use

The Contents obtained via the Service may be accessed by the User him- or herself, by the person who requested the purchase in cases where the user is a proxy, and by patrons in the case of a library or similar facility. Use of the Contents obtained via the Service or the transfer, exchange, resale thereof to a third party without the prior consent of the JSAE is strictly prohibited. Storing the Contents obtained via the Service on a server and providing access through network sharing or other means is also strictly prohibited.

12. Handling of Personal Information

The JSAE will responsibly handle personal information collected from users in relation with the Service.
The definition and use of personal information shall conform with the JSAE policy on the protection of personal information (https://www.jsae.or.jp/en/privacy_e.pdf).

13. Disclosure or Correction of Personal Information

Requests to disclose or correct information held by the JSAE made by a User him- or herself, or a designated representative thereof, will be promptly honored within a reasonable and necessary scope after confirming that the requester is the User or the designated representative. Contact information is provided at the end of this document.
Note that requests cannot be honored if any of the conditions below apply.
  1. It is not possible to confirm that the requester is the User him- or herself, or the designated representative thereof.
  2. There is a risk of damage to the rights or interests of a third party.
  3. There is a risk of serious impediment to the operations of the JSAE.
  4. There is a risk of violating other laws.
  5. There are other unavoidable circumstances.

14. Prohibitions

The following actions are prohibited when using the Service.
  1. Actions that interfere with the operation of the Service.
  2. Spoofing or other forms of impersonation when accessing of the Service.
  3. Any duplication, reproduction, digitization, modification of the Contents obtained via the Service that exceeds the scope stipulated in Copyright Law, or any transfer, exchange, or resale of such Contents to a third party.
  4. In the event that a User carries out any of the above actions, the JSAE shall, at its discretion, take appropriate measures such as warning the User, suspending access to the Service, or claiming damages.

15. Disclaimers and Scope of Damages

The JSAE shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for cases where the data provided by the Service is not displayed properly due to communication device, software, communication lines, or other equipment or material issues.
In the event that the JSAE becomes liable for damages incurred by a User due to circumstances imputable to the JSAE or legal obligations, the maximum compensation shall be set to the total amount paid to the JSAE by the User.

16. Revisions to These Terms of Use

  1. The JSAE shall revise the contents of these Terms of Use in the event of amendments to laws or other rules that require making such revisions.
    A User who accesses the Service after revisions to the Terms of Use have come into effect is considered to have consented to the revised Terms of Use.
  2. When the Terms of Use are revised in accordance with the preceding paragraph, the JSAE shall make the revision known by providing the information below on its website and via other appropriate means at least one month before the revisions come into effect.
    1. The fact that these Terms of Use have been revised.
    2. The contents of the revised Terms of Use.
    3. The date at which the revision comes into effect.

17. Applicable Laws

The validity and enforcement of these Terms of Use are governed by Japanese law.

18. Competent Court

Any dispute arising in connection with the Service or these Terms of Use shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in the first instance.

19. Miscellaneous

  1. These Terms of Use constitute an agreement between the User and the JSAE concerning the use of the provided Service and supersede any and all previous announcements, guarantees, or conditions pertaining to the Service.
  2. Even if a subset of these Terms of Use be found in violation of the law or otherwise invalidated by a legal or court decision, all other parts of these Terms of Use shall remain in effect.

If the page is incorrect, missing, or damaged or defective when the product arrives, we will replace it.
