| Abstract(J) | 低重心・高バランスといった水平対向エンジンの素性の良さを活かし、高回転・高出力・環境性能を高次元で両立する自然吸気2.4L エンジンを開発した。本体構造および主運動系、動弁系部品など強度・剛性バランスを追求し、排気量拡大にもかかわらずエンジン重量の軽量化を果たした。燃料システムにはD-4S※システムを採用し、現行から各種エンジン制御を見直し、環境性能と高出力を両立させた。これらにより、『回したくなる吹けの良いエンジン』を実現。また従来型と同様に4-2-1 排気系をコンパクトに納め、エンジン上部の補機類にも拘りエンジン全高を縮小、低重心の素性の良さを継承し、歩行者保護性能を満たしつつスポーツカーらしいデザインに貢献した。※ D-4S：Direct injection 4 stroke gasoline engine Superior version。D-4S はトヨタ自動車株式会社の登録商標。 Translation |
| Abstract(E) | The all-new FA24 engine was developed exclusively to be fitted in the 22MY Subaru BRZ. The basic construction comes from FA20, a former unit developed for the 13MY BRZ. To achieve both high horsepower and environmental friendliness, and also meet the vehicle concept “Mastering sports cars”,the engine adopted technical changes such as bigger crankshaft pins, lighter crank pulley, sophisticated connecting rod with improved material strength, light weight pistons, and also Toyota’s D-4S＊ system.※ D-4S：Direct injection 4 stroke gasoline engine Superior version.
