| Abstract(E) | Clarifying TWC purification mechanism and developing predictive models are crucial for future hybrid powertrains with spark ignition engines in passenger vehicles. By using a detailed surface reaction model CO oxidation reaction on Rh surface was simulated. Adding the phenomenological reactions expressing the formation and decomposition of oxide film to the CO+O2 surface reaction mechanism on Rh made it possible to reproduce the result of light-off test and XPS analysis. Through this research, the mechanism of oxide film formation and decomposition on Rh surface and the effect of Rh oxidation to the purification performance became clear. |
