Abstract(E) | Inversed-delta injection concept and TAIZAC (TAndem Injectors Zapping ACtivation) injector developed by the authors through SIP Innovative Combustion Technology Program (October 2014 to March 2019) and AICE Project Research (April 2019 to March 2021) for thermal efficiency improvement of diesel engines are briefly reviewed. Optical diagnostics of diesel late combustion, conceptual proposal for late combustion reduction based on the inversed-delta injection rate shaping, development of TAIZAC injector as a handy and effective research tool to realize the injection rate shaping, demonstration of engine thermal efficiency improvement, and further experimental examination of vortex development, enhanced mixing and heat release are outlined. |
