Translation |
Abstract(E) | The virtual human body model is widely used to understand the mechanism of crash-induced injury. Toyota and Toyota Central R&D Labs. have jointly developed THUMS. It precisely represents human body structure and simulates injury. The validity of the mechanical responses was examined by comparing with test data. THUMS was used to help develop safety technology. Safety assessment will be conducted virtually in the near future. Additional validations are conducted for THUMS to be used in virtual testing. Another research is conducted for occupant protection in future autonomous vehicles. THUMS will be updated to predict abdominal injury in reclined seating position. |
