Abstract(E) | The analytical methods in the mathematical theory of plasticity to analyze metal forming processes in manufacturing of bolts and screws are reviewed. The slab method to derive the drawing force of wire and the rolling force in thread rolling is shown. The indentation force of wedge-shaped tool is analyzed using the slip-line field and the energy method. The extrusion force of cylindrical rod is also analyzed using the upper bound method. |
