Abstract(E) | This paper introduces millimeter-wave(MMW)radar system and its consumer applications after the explanation of radar principles. Next, automotive MMW radar systems for forward and peripheral surveillance on road are described including the measurement results. The MMW radar sensor is sensitive to small cardiac moment of 1mm or less because of the higher frequency and wider bandwidth available, thereby the vital signs such as heartbeat interval would be estimated even while driving an automobile. Therefore, MMW based vital signs sensor is also presented to estimate driver’s heartbeat interval and to detect passengers including infants. |
