| Abstract(E) | We developed world’s first vehicle rear camera that comes equipped with a pedestrian detection function. It can detect pedestrians behind the vehicle, alert the driver with a buzzer, and automatically brake when there is a possibility of a collision to prevent personal injury when the vehicle is backing up. Camera Electronic Control Un（it ECU）systems that can detect pedestrians have already been developed, but our newly developed camera has the following three features: （1）The detection function is put in a small camera; （2）It can detect stationary people; and（3）It allows drivers to see detection information and high-quality color images behind the vehicle on the navigation screen. |
