| Abstract(E) | In this article, our recent work on personal audio systems is introduced. Acoustic fields can be confined near the proposed loudspeaker arrays. If the loudspeaker array is attached to a headrest or used as a wearable audio device, sounds can be delivered only to the user without headphones and earphones. The technology is based on maximizing the ratio of the reactive acoustic power to the active acoustic power. The active acoustic power is contributive in the near and far fields, whereas the reactive acoustic power is contributive only in the near field. Hence, the maximization enhances the nearby acoustic fields. |
