Translation |
Abstract(E) | Wind tunnel tests are conducted by repeatedly changing the shape and measuring the aerodynamics to search for automobile shapes that meet the target performance. If active aero devices with shapes changed by remote control could be mounted on automobiles to allow work to be performed without entering or moving equipment into the wind path to change the shape, this will enable continuous and efficient testing without stopping the wind, thereby increasing the number of tests within a limited development period and raising the probability of attaining the target performance. This research developed active devices for the front strakes and rear spoiler that can be controlled remotely, mounted them on a mock-up, and confirmed operation in wind tunnel tests. The results confirmed that the number of tests can be increased to 10 times the previous number within the same period of time. |
