| Abstract(E) | While the number of traffic fatalities in Japan has continued to decline, making it one of the safest countries in the world, the trend has leveled off in recent years. This report summarizes the automotive safety measures being implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) with the goal of achieving a society free of traffic accidents. This report also provides an overview of international discussions regarding safety technical regulations for automated driving systems, which are currently under development worldwide. |
