| Abstract(E) | This paper presents KDDI’s vehicle-mounted mobile base stations as a rapid solution for restoring communications in disaster-affected areas. The system integrates radio equipment, antennas, satellite backhaul, and power generation on a vehicle, requiring careful consideration of vehicle dynamics and regulatory compliance. The evolution of design, operational improvements, and automation are described, along with the introduction of Starlink as a backhaul. A case study of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake demonstrates effectiveness and operational value, and future enhancements are discussed. |
