| Abstract(E) | The authors have developed a vehicle model that enables accurate estimation of thermal management system optimization and energy efficiency effects based on usage, even during the functional design phase when no physical vehicle exists. The thermal management system analyzes the required functions—such as heating and cooling—for components that need thermal control, including the battery, electric drive, and air conditioning. It then conceptualizes and models a thermal management system that satisfies these requirements. The vehicle model is a 1D model using components installed in mass-produced vehicles. Parameters necessary for the model, such as thermal capacity and thermal resistance of these components, were identified through real vehicle testing on mass-produced vehicles, ensuring an energy efficiency accuracy within ±1%. This report presents a case study in which the developed vehicle model was applied to a heating scenario in a low-temperature environment. |
