| Abstract(E) | This study explores the potential for controlling the natural frequencies of automotive body structures through structural modifications. Using topology optimization, the optimal placement of additional components was identified to reduce vibrations at response points on the front floor cross, influenced by subframe vibrations. Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis distinguished the effects of mass and stiffness from the added components, suggesting that vibration levels could be reduced solely by changing the stiffness distribution. Additionally, optimizing the shapes of the dashboard and floor panel achieved a 2.5 dB reduction in vibration levels. This research demonstrates the potential to reduce vibration levels by changing the stiffness distribution without increasing mass through optimal design. |
