Translation |
| Abstract(E) | This study aims to investigate the causes of e-scooter accidents by clarifying kinematic characteristics. A test-course experiment comparing e-scooters with bicycles was conducted, involving eight participants and scenarios of straight riding, scheduled braking, sudden braking, normal turning, and emergence avoidance. Compared to bicycles, e-scooters more frequently exceeded the designated stopping target line during normal braking, showed delayed brake initiation and longer stopping distances in sudden braking, and exhibited less stable speed control in straight riding. These findings suggest that the longer stopping distances of e-scooters, especially during sudden braking, may increase the risk of rear-end collisions. |
