| Abstract(E) | It has been reported that increasing the torsion bar stiffness of an EPS system enhances steering feel. To express this sensory evaluation, we investigated the closed loop characteristics that combines an EPS system varying the torsion bar stiffness with a two-wheel vehicle model. As a result, we were able to quantitatively evaluate the steering feel obtained by increasing the torsion bar stiffness. Furthermore, we considered the control stability of the EPS system and investigated the optimum value of the torsion bar stiffness in the EPS system design. Based on these results, we propose a design guideline for the torsion bar stiffness of a torque sensor. |
