Translation |
| Abstract(E) | We propose a multi-component surrogate framework for diesel and biodiesel blends that separates liquid-phase and gas-phase surrogates derived directly from measured fuel composition. The liquid surrogate retains distillation behavior using 36 components, while 13 gas-phase representative species are mapped to a detailed kinetic mechanism. Cetane-number equivalence is achieved through targeted adjustments to low-temperature oxidation pathways and surrogate blending, enabling consistent ignition ranking across B7, HVO, PME50, and SME50. A reduced mechanism (284 species, 5842 reactions) is coupled with 3D CFD spray combustion simulations and validated against engine tests and RCEM optical diagnostics. The model reproduces pressure and heat-release histories, captures NOx and THC trends, and qualitatively matches soot evolution and spatial distribution. The approach provides a practical, composition-driven tool for combustion and emissions studies of diverse carbon-neutral fuels. |
