Abstract(E) | The heat management of a vehicle and the heat-up characteristic of an ICE can strongly influence fuel consumption. In the development-process of new components, numerical simulation is indispensable to uncover the effects on the vehicle warm-up in an early stage. A 1D-simulation framework was developed based on comprehensive thermal measurements of the vehicle. In addition, this paper shows the virtual application of a thermal management module (TMM) for demand controlled volume flow. A functional prototype was developed, applied to the reference car and validated on the chassis dynamometer. |
