| Abstract(E) | It is important to reduce CO2 emissions by improving automobile fuel consumption. Nevertheless, the vehicle aerodynamic drag has reached a plateau in recent years. Thus, a new technique to further reduce the drag is needed. In this study, we examined the aerodynamic drag of a vehicle with different outside rear view mirrors. From these results, we defined two evaluation indices to reduce the vehicle drag. Using these indices, we attempted to optimize the form factors of the mirror. |
