| Abstract(E) | Variable-Axial Composite, VAC, is a class of continuous fiber composites in which the orientation direction of fibers is freely controlled locally within it. Anisotropic topology optimization and tailored fiber placement are promising technologies for design and manufacture of VACs, respectively. In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional structural design method that combines above two methods, and fabricate a prototype of an automobile rear frame and evaluate it. |
