Abstract(E) | To reduce the pollution including CO2, the characteristics of combustion in internal combustion engines have been investigated. For different concerns and challenges, tons of researches about turbulent combustion were established in a constant vessel by adding many alternative dilutions, so that researchers could simplify and quantify the influence with different additions in flame propagation. According to these researches, several essential parameters govern combustion performance like Lewis number, Karlovitz number, and so on. However, the mixtures used in these experiments were based on the ratio of 1:3.76 between O2 and N2. In this research, the authors focus on the influence of different additions on the combustion performance, which bases on the free ratio between O2 and N2, to see whether the parameters still govern the process of combustion or not. By the results of this research, it was found that the combustion performance changes greatly and the governing parameters also shift when the N2 ratio reduces. |
