Translation |
Abstract(E) | We detect ambient temperature through so called thermosensitive TRP channels expressed in sensory neurons or skin keratinocytes. David Julius awarded 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of temperature receptors such as capsaicin receptor TRPV1 and menthol receptor TRPM8 which are also activated by noxious heat and cold stimuli, respectively. |
