| Abstract(E) | When evaluating traffic management strategies, traffic demand characteristics must be reasonably considered. For that, in this study, temporal fluctuations of Origin-Destination（OD）traffic volume in the whole Tokyo metropolitan expressway network were analyzed using the ETC data, which is recorded by the electronic toll collection systems at tollgates. To be more specific, a periodical component by time in a day was extracted from the observed volume for each OD by the time series decomposition, and which was categorized based on the time series clustering. The results exhibit ten typical patterns of temporal fluctuations with different peak periods. |
