Translation |
Abstract(E) | Personal mobility vehicles(PMVs)such as wheelchair are considered essential in our daily lives. Most conventional PMVs employ a single mechanism, such as a wheel mechanism or a crawler mechanism. However, it is difficult for PMVs employing a single mechanism to move over all the terrains that are encountered in daily life: steps, rough terrains, stairs, etc. Therefore, Robotic wheelchairs(RWs)are designed with multiple mechanisms to move over various terrains. We have been studying on driver support for RWs with multiple moving mechanisms. In this article, we report on our current ideas based on the results of simple experiment. |
