Translation |
Abstract(E) | One of the key technologies for further improvement in thermal efficiency of reciprocating engines should be cooling loss reduction based on the more detailed understanding of heat transfer phenomena. In addition, further increase in compression ratio especially for diesel engines,in which diffusion combustion is dominant, is anticipated to achieve significant improvement in thermal efficiency. Therefore, spray flame impingement or interference to the wall and resulting inhomogeneous surface temperature distribution are the major issues to consider cooling loss reduction by heat insulation technique. This report introduces some examples of cooling loss reduction technology, which have been studied for recent years. |
