| Abstract(E) | This paper evaluates the impact of communication delay on drivability in remote driving systems and aims to define desirable conditions of vehicle behavior and driving ease for remotely controllable automated driving systems. Using a driving simulator capable of introducing adjustable delay, experiments are conducted at various vehicle speeds to analyze driver operations and vehicle responses. Based on these analyses, the communication delay range that satisfies the desirable conditions for each speed is clarified, providing fundamental knowledge for expanding the Operational Design Domain of remote driving systems. |
