Abstract(E) | Mitsubishi FUSO and Daimler Truck will focus on both fuel cell and battery technology to achieve CO2-neutral transportation. Commercial vehicles differ to passenger cars in their physical properties and usage. Especially to meet the high energy-demands, truck-specific solutions should be considered. For fuel cell electric vehicles, subcooled liquid hydrogen (sLH2) has advantages compared to compressed hydrogen gas. It allows for more range, reduces refueling time and reduces infrastructure complexity. Daimler Truck and Linde have announced a cooperation to define sLH2 refueling standards. For battery electric vehicles, an 800V electrical system allows for higher charging speeds and weight reduction. |
