Abstract(E) | This study describes a method for measuring the coefficient of friction between a tire and a road surface from the strain induced in the tire or wheel. The strain in the sidewall of a tire and the strain in the side and bottom of a wheel are focused on, and it is clarified that these strains are correlated with the ground load of the tire. From the results, an experimental equation is derived, and it is shown that the friction coefficient of the road surface during driving can be measured. |
