Abstract(E) | The authors have studied an argon closed-cycle hydrogen engine in regard to system configuration, starting and fueling methods, thermal efficiency and losses, the effect of water vapor in the working gas, and the effect of argon concentration. However, the mechanism of knocking has not been investigated, and it has not been clarified whether the knocking is the same as the conventional knocking or is caused by the closed intake/exhaust system. In this study, the conventional knocking mechanism was investigated, and pressure transducers were installed to the intake and exhaust pipes to investigate the effect of closed piping. The effect of the closed piping on knocking was investigated by analyzing the correlation between the exhaust pipe pressure and the intake pipe pressure. |
