Translation |
Abstract(E) | The use of a nonstandard diesel fuel beyond sulfur limit may accelerates the degradation of low SAPS lubricating engine oil. This study examines the effect of sulfur in a diesel fuel on the oxidative degradation of low SAPS lubricating oil. The temporal changes of oxidative parameters were measured during ISOT test of the lubricating oil diluted with diesel fuel, and SO2 gas bubbling test. ISOT test results show that the sulfur in contaminated fuel brings no effect to the oxidative degradation. On the other hand, the presence of 5ppm SO2 in bubbling gas accelerates the consumption of the antioxidant. |
