抄録(英) | Reducing friction loss is a useful approach to achieving low fuel consumption and clean exhaust gas for internal combustion engines. On the other hand, there is a problem of increasing lubricant oil consumption (LOC) as a conflicting phenomenon. Furthermore, in the current evaluation based on the actual engine, it takes time for LOC evaluation, so model based development (MBD) is expected to shorten the development period and enhance of design accuracy. To predict LOC accurately, it is essential to clarify the detailed LOC mechanism. The LOC is considered to be mainly caused by oil transport between the piston and the bore and oil evaporation from the bore wall, but its contribution in turbocharged diesel engines is unclear. In this study, detailed LOC measurement was performed under not only the steady state operation but also transient operation simulating urban driving. The oil evaporation amount was obtained by experimentally by using some engine oils with the same viscosity characteristics but different evaporation properties. LOC, especially the factor of oil evaporation, was investigated by comparing it with the calculated results from the oil evaporation model constructed based on the existing model. Furthermore, the applicability of the oil evaporation model was examined using by some engine oils with different evaporation properties, namely, different carbon compositions. 翻訳 |
