抄録(英) | The hydrogen internal combustion engine can play a crucial role in accelerating the energy transition. Load range, transient response and efficiency are key parameters to optimize. Furthermore, the hydrogen engine has high NOx reduction potential that may result in a decisive cost benefit by the reduction or perhaps even complete elimination of aftertreatment. In this paper, an overview of the main results from recent experimental hydrogen combustion engine research at TNO are presented. An important aspect within this research is the quantification of main trade-offs. The obtained results provide valuable insights for realizing a high performing system and potential elimination of aftertreatment within the context of both current as well as next generation legislation. 翻訳 |
